Summery:It's been six weeks since angels of the apocalypse descended to demolish the modern world. Street gangs rule the day while fear and superstition rule the night. When warrior angels fly away with a helpless little girl, her seventeen-year-old sister Penryn will do anything to get her back.
Anything, including making a deal with an enemy angel.
Raffe is a warrior who lies broken and wingless on the street. After eons of fighting his own battles, he finds himself being rescued from a desperate situation by a half-starved teenage girl.
Traveling through a dark and twisted Northern California, they have only each other to rely on for survival. Together, they journey toward the angels' stronghold in San Francisco where she'll risk everything to rescue her sister and he'll put himself at the mercy of his greatest enemies for the chance to be made whole again.

Review: This story starts off with Penryn, her mother, and her little sister, Paige, exiting their "home" to move up towards the hills of California, where there are less people, and gangs, to be safer. It has been six weeks since the angels of the apocalypse have arrived on earth destroying town, cities, building, and people.Within the first 10 pages the action starts, the story is fast pace, but not to an unpleasing point. I really like Penryn, I like seeing her story and background unfold throughout the book, her thought processes seemed like that of a seventeen year old girl, especially up against what she was up against. I also liked Raffe. I also liked the relationship between Penryn and her family, as well as her relationship with Raffe. The romance wasn't overbearing, like some young adult romances can be. There were some funny moments, and lines. also some parts are kinda gory in description, so be warned, but I really enjoyed the book and can't wait to read the second book. Also I really love the covers, and I hope they stick with them throughout the series.

Hope everybody had/has a great day : )
